The mozzie, the funnel web and the prickly Chinese guy

As with the previous night i had had a problem with a lone sniper-like mosquito stalking me in the middle of the night ... I decided last night to use a mosquito net over my bed... As a consequence I woke up wrapped up as though a giant funnel-web spider had had its wicked way with me.

Mr Thai made phone calls to locals and organised and paid for our respective buses. Mine cost 75000 vnd to get to Saigon...this was included as part of the full sum paid thus far.
We all took the time for a group photo with Mr Thai.

Other than my great stay, my lasting impression of the Delta will be the Viet people and their ability to make the land and the Delta work for them. The drains for farming and irrigation are extensive . The region is certainly the vegetable and fruit-bowl of the whole country it would seem. And all of this work is performed by the poorest but most happy and friendly people of the region.

After Leah and Sonia had left, Lena and I chatted while Mr Thai dropped them off. Lena was very interesting to talk to regarding Russia, the situation in the Ukraine and the influence of America in it all. We shared very similar views, but to hear it from an actual person from Russia was a special experience to me.

After a short very wobbly motorbike trip with my backpack I arrived at the local bus stop. The bus left at 8am.

Im writing this as I travel on a bus full of Chinese people.

The man beside me just fell asleep with his head on my shoulder...awkward !

His hair is prickly :-)
