My Son Sanctuary, and Exploring outside of Hoi An

Today I woke up about 8 a.m. I immediately went across the road and hired a motorbike for the day. I rode the bike in the direction that I thought my the My Son Sanctuary was located ... after about 20 minutes I realised I was going in completely the wrong direction. I eventually worked out how to get out of Hoi An and headed out through a suburb into the country - which was full of rice paddies just being planted. Soon I turned onto a motorway intersection and followed the road for about another 20 kilometres. All up the trip was supposed to be 63 kilometres but that seems to take you to the town called My Son and then there is a sign saying it will be another 6 kilometres after six kilometres there is another sign saying it will be in 3 kilometres after 3 kilometres there is another sign saying another 3 kilometres then you park your bike pay for your ticket (100000 vnd plus 5000 vnd for the Bike). Then you get back on your bike and ride up the Sanctuary road for another two kilometres. Before getting to the point where you must walk 800 or so metres. so all of the trip is about 2000 kilometres!! Lol

As usual, I got lots of photos. As usual too many tourists there.
I made the best of the situation by finding a very creepy dark scary temple entrance and I hid inside waiting for a tourist to come in and I filmed their reaction getting a fright when I popped out if the dark and shouted BOO !!! Lol
It was a really creepy place which made it sooo funny. Just about pissed myself laughing.

It was not until about being there half an hour before I realised I was not i had my camera on manual focus... silly me ...so i re  shot some of the other photos. I had a good look around and must have been there nearly 2 hours there before jumping on the bike and heading home. Halfway home just out of one of the little villages I stopped to have a soup of some description and bread roll. I've then continued and road all the way back right through Hoi An and out the other side towards the beach.

I rode around the Coconut Waters area and got some more photos before heading out to An Bang beach. The beach is really quite disappointing as they are trying to build new resorts and even shore up the beach with retaining walls and diggers so its one hell of a mess at the moment. I got a few photos anyway. I got talking to someone who had just come down from up north again told me about the weather. Today it was actually quite cold on the bike i'm really going to need to get some long pants i think I'm riding around with a big woolly top, just shorts and my thongs on, and its getting rather chilly around certain items of  my anatomy.

Speaking of which I noticed a really odd phenomenon today ...no where on the trip out but about every two kilometres all the way back I saw groups of vietnamese men stopping to piss on the side of the road. There must be some weird thing in their culture where they drink 5 litres of booze at lunch time or something. I thought it was really strange ... just an observation.
