Eggs, diet and plan changes

After a week of eating only Thai food and very very little european food my poo now has the consistency of an undercooked poached egg. I decided for safety reasons to have a good solid meal tonight. However i will point out that I now have two complete trips to Thailand under my belt and not being sick once. i even survived this unpleasantry in  India having only ever been sick Rarotonga .
Tonight, I found a restaurant just around the corner while I was shopping for new memory cards for my camera (2 × 32gb class D Kingston micro and adapters for 744,000 vnd).
It seemed like a nice restaurant to eat at so i ordered some fries and a caesar salad although they had ribs on the menu i was well behaved. I figured i could do with some good greens as well it was an exceptionally nice meal at 180000 vnd including two drinks.
The hostel owner seems like a nice person with a she does try hard to secure anything that i am likely the spend elsewhere to herself. Not an unusual thing over here it seems.
Interestingly, each day when i get back the hostel she is always burning incense on a small temple downstairs in the office. Tonight when i got home there is also a naked chicken roasting in the small temple. I asked if this was dinner and they said to me that the chicken will be blessed or the coming new year before it is used for dinner. I had to wonder if anybody told the chicken that would occur ... it may be an atheist chicken
I have changed my plans just a little. I was going to hire a motorbike and ride to My Tho, but i have managed to secure a ride with the hostel owner for half the price that it would have cost me to hire a bike to get there and back so i think i will be better to go direct to My Tho and then hire a bike and explore the Delta from there. I will stay in My Tho for 2 days I expect. I am really pleased to say i'm running a bit ahead of my planned schedule ... i'm getting through an awful lot of things on my list.
Today i did the Ben Thanh Market, the Notre Dame Basilica, the post office building, the Jade Pagoda, and even the Saigon Zoo. Then I shopped for more SD cards.

I walked well over 25 kms all up in burning hot heat.
I'm going to go out again soon and get some night photographs and i might even sit and have a cold beer in a bar somewhere while I tidy up this blog a bit. but then im heading back for a nice early night. My lift leaves at 8 o'clock sharp in the morning and costs me only180000 vnd or about $10 Aussie. So tonight it shall be my earliest new years ever.
