Hue ... settling in

I arrived into Hue about midday and walked the 3 kilometres with my backpack to a backpackers hostel.
It's about 12 deg celcius and is defintely getting cooler as I head north.
The route all the way from the train station is dotted with places such as fuji film processiing and picture framing shops for some strange reason, But the walk along the river and the park was ok. I had not eaten anything all day what so ever and stopped and had lunch at the resturant located right between the Vegitarian resturant and the river ... and it was crap... just my review. I did not have a much of what was shown  on the menu. They could not take a mastercard or  visa despite a sign saying that they could do so. They did have a machine but they had no where to plug it in. No powerpoint whatsoever.when I paid cash they did not have enough change to give so they had to ask around a number of their stuff to sort that out. When i ordered a drink it never came. I ordered an orange juice only to be told that they did not have any however two of the staff were walking around drinking a glass of orange juice themselves. They told me they have wifi and even gave me the password but when I rried to connect it was so weak and unusable. When i asked them to reset the router, they said they could not because the wifi is from the place across the road, Very dodgy but funny.
I  have found that being harassed for a taxi along here has been worse than anywhere I've seen so far. When i got to the backpackers I discovered that it was full but i was curious about the price and it turns out that a shared dorm room is 250000 vnd so I wandered across the road to a hotel and I discovered i could have my own room of better quality or 230000 vnd . That's just bizarre. .. but that's Vietnam.
