As I leave Nga Trang

Currently I'm sitting at Ga Nga Trang. Just waiting for my 19:54 train to Da Nang. I'm here more than an hour early. Based on what I saw earlier at this station, i wanted to be sure :-)

I spent most of the afternoon on the motorbike exploring rice paddies and small village inland from Nga Trang.

I saw one cracker of an accident where at a busy roundabout a scooter practically went right though a bicycle in front of me. It bent the bike to a clean 90 degrees :-p
I actually liked Nga Trang, the climate was better, and it was easy enough to escape the city, really only a 30 min scooter ride in all directions. The worst thing is the blatant ripping off of tourists that is an epidemic here, its the worst I've seen so far. I don't mean the prices, as everything is still so cheap anyway , it's more when you pay for something and don't get what was promised, expected or advertised. It has a more western feel, but it is very strongly Russian. I heard someone say it is the Russian Bali.

As such it was difficult to mingle with the other backpackers due to the language barrier.

I met nobody other than two couples at the waterfall who spoke a single word of English...and they were Aussies...so even their English was dodgy :-)
