Most of the train trip was a little squeezed, the train was full of sweaty locals.
With frequent stops, drop offs and pickups. It was difficult to sleep. However I think i did fairly ok.
I had the forethought to pack my earphones, and some music served me well. Day is breaking as we near Da Nang. Its the 10th Jan and according to my plan I'm now one day ahead. Which is perfect. I've ticked near all my items thus far including even some relax time.
Nothing too weird happened on the train, apart from some unusually loud snorers. There is a few large groups if western backpackers on the train...when I get off I'm guessing they are all heading to Hoi An...so that will help me find the right dire tion and mode of travel I expect. Apparently Hoi An is about 30km south of Da Nang. It is Hoi An I'm trying to get to, then I'll make my way north and inland.
I get quotes of 400000 and 370000 for the trip to Hoi An, I get the taxi guys to argue among themselves, saying that I will take the cheapest. Eventually, I get down to 250000, and the guy leads me away...to a motorbike...its raining! Bugger that. I get one of the cabbies to agree to 250000 also and get away.
