Another big day...
they just keep on coming. It’s about 5pm as I write this up and I’m really exhausted.
WIFI is still crap here, so this post again via my hotspot.
The day started with a quick shower about 8AM, and then heading
downstairs to Breakfast (which I neglected to mention is included in the price
here). Not many options and it won’t fill most bellies. I had the option of pancake
and peanut butter or pancake and egg. I went with the egg option.
It turned out to be a small sliver on undercooked batter of
some short and a ¼ of a fried egg on top. The coffee was nice though. As I ate
I had my favorite song playing through the hostel. It was about the 600th
time. Just a tip. If you are the only one staying here… don’t tell them your
favorite song… or it won’t be by the time you leave J. Actually jokes aside, I discovered
this place has only been open one month. Its very clean and new, and the staff
ad very friendly, and not too bad an English either. They have been very
helpful in providing maps and giving me some tips. I’lll be sure to give a
glowing TripAdvisor report to help them out.
I thought they were pulling my leg when I wanted to rent a motorbike
for the day and I was told it would be 150000 vnd, which is 50% dearer than everywhere
else. So I decided to walk around ad rent one elsewhere … after all they are
everywhere … right?. Walked for about 30
mins around te blocks and could not find a bike rental anywhere.
It turns out there are none in the suburb … or for quite some distance. And just a quick message to the old woman next to the bakery who gobbed a big hock of snot on to my shoe – I’m keeping it! – finders keepers.
Eventually, I was forced to admit defeat and returned to the Hostel and they soon had a bike delivered.
I also had a look around a market and went out that night taking photos.
