I could not get any WIFI at the airport, which was a surprise. Then on the train i could also not pick up any satelitte connections either. Once we got to the hotel we managed to connect to the wifi and let family know we survived the flight.
Had a great nights sleep. The hotel seems quite nice. Very quiet and cosy. We did a walk around last niģht and took a few photos. I expect the couple next door were happy to finish what they had started before we disturbed them :-p
Sharon has stayed here before so we knew it would be a good hotel.
Its is also very well located near the main trains which will help a lot over the next few days i expect.
We woke about 5:30am and i tried to get a few longer exposure photos of the sunrise over Bangkok CBD. Quite a lot of traffic even at that time
Got a bit of a fright using the loo ... i forgot how some loos in Asia have the bowl half full of water.
I am not sure what I ate last night, but to find something resembling a size 12 brown shoe swirling around on top of the water was a bit of an eye opener! (That must really scare short sighted old people with their high tendancy to produce floaties).
Anyway I write this while Sharon sleeps in a bit longer. We'll head down in the pursuit of food for breakfast soon. We plan to head to MBK and maybe a market today. We'll just see how it unfolds.
We will book a 'Bridge over the river Kwai' trip also.
